Brother Jerry H. Lyons

Brother Jerry H. Lyons served for 50 years as ordained minister pastoring in Sandia, Palacios, Houston, Corpus Christi, Oak Shade Baptist Church in Cleveland, Trinity and Dolen Baptist Church in Cleveland, Texas with interims at other Churches throughout Texas. He has touched countless lives through his ministry.
Brother Jerry left this world Sunday, September 12, 2010. He was born in Beaucoup, Illinois on March 29, 1927 to Homer and Atha Y. Lyons who preceded him in death along with his first wife, Martha Lyons; twin brother, Joe Lyons; two sisters, three brothers, and an infant brother.
Survivors include his loving wife, Della Read Lyons; son. Tim Lyons and wife, Jane; daughters, Carla Jean Sealy and husband, Richard, Johnnie Mac Wilson and husband, Bob; sister, Ruth Ann Gesek; brother, Larry Jack Lyons and wife, Margaret; grandchildren, Robin Mills, Misty Morris, John Sealy, Jason Sealy, Kim Cramer, Travis Wilson, and Jerry Wilson, great-grandchildren, Noah Zane Sealy and Mackinzey Morris; seventeen nieces and nephews; four step-children, six step-grandchildren; and so many other cherished family members and treasured friends beyond measure.
Rev. Jerry Bontrager presided over funeral services held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Oak Shade Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Oak Shade Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jason Sealy, John Sealy, Travis Wilson, Jerry Wilson, Steve Morris, and Parish Mills.
