Brenda Lee Ayers

Brenda Lee Ayers, 64, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024. Brenda was born on March 8, 1960, in Texas City, Texas, to Richard Hagler and Emily Ring. She spent the last 36 years of her life in Tarkington Prairie, where she and her loving and devoted husband, Randall Ayers, raised their family. Prior to their move to Tarkington Prairie, the family resided in Houston, Texas.

Brenda was a beacon of kindness and compassion. Her children lovingly remember her as “the kindest person I knew, and didn’t have a mean bone in her body,” “the most loving, caring, nicest person to everyone,” and “the person who could talk you through any problems.” They recall her as totally unselfish, always the first to lend a helping hand and the last to sit down. Her boundless love and selflessness extended beyond her immediate family to embrace the children of others as well.

Brenda’s family time was precious to her. As "Nana" to her grandson Rhyatt, she was known as the "Nana with no rules," cherishing their special relationship deeply. She also shared a unique bond with her best friend and sister/cousin, Cindy. Together, they enjoyed many joyful moments, including sharing espresso martinis, singing karaoke and dancing.

In her professional life, Brenda made a significant impact as a social studies teacher at Highlands Junior School in Goose Creek ISD, where she worked for the past eight years. Her students adored her, often expressing their love and admiration for her dedicated and professional approach to teaching.

Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Richard Hagler; her mother, Emily Ring; and three of her siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Randall Ayers; her son, Alvin Ayers; her daughters, Jennifer Ayers, Randi Ayers, Emily McAnally and husband Huestis; her brothers, Donnie Hagler and wife Glenda, Ronnie Hagler, Clifford Carter, Doug Carter and wife Kristie, and Ronnie Lewis and Nicole; her sisters, Barbie Malley, Mary Williams and husband Chuck; her grandchildren, Rhyatt Waller and Hayes McAnally (on the way); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
