Bonnie Faye Moore Deiss

Bonnie Faye Moore Deiss, 84, of College Station, TX, passed away on March 5, 2025, after natural causes ended her time on Earth.

Bonnie was born on December 15, 1940 to Robert Vaughn Moore and Sue Elizabeth Hopkins in Houston, TX. She is survived by her daughters, Valerie and Page, and her grandchildren, Blair, Ayla, and Alison. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, her son, Robert, and her granddaughter Morgan.

Bonnie Faye lived a life filled with unique experiences and wonderful adventures:

She attended John H. Reagan in Houston and was hired out of high school as a local clothing model for Joske's Department Store and Cutter Bill’s Western Wear in downtown.

A few years later she learned how to ride and compete in professional barrel racing as well as other rodeo events, and in 1972 was the Texas Rodeo Association’s Rookie Barrel Racer of the Year.

In 1983, she became a certified EMT for San Jacinto County and earned the Volunteer of the Year Award as an instructor. She found her calling when she worked for the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Department in different capacities which led to her becoming a certified Peace Officer for Texas. Throughout her time in law enforcement, Bonnie achieved excellence in her various positions at the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department respectively. She was eventually promoted to Detective Sergeant status at Montgomery County Sheriff's Department and earned the award for Investigator of the Year in 1993.

In her later life, Bonnie’s most beloved work was done as a gospel singer. She formed several groups over the years and even recorded albums. As the lead singer for Calvary’s News, she and her group were awarded Best New Gospel Group for the southern states. Bonnie’s solo album, “How Are Things At Home,” was an achievement that she had always dreamed about. Her beautiful voice has been a comfort to many souls throughout the years.

Most important of all, Bonnie was baptized into the Christian faith and rested on the promise that when she died, she was met with the love and forgiveness of her Savior.
