Bobby Joe McGee, 66, of Dayton died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in Beaumont after an extended illness. He was born July 18, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas to parents, George Washington and Eunice Howard McGee and had lived in this area since 1999. A previous resident of Wallisville, Bobby worked for Enterprise Production in Mont Belvieu as an electrician. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam on the USS Isle Royale AD-29 and assisted with Air America as a radioman after his discharge.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Houston National Cemetery. Visitation is 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.
Mr. McGee was preceded in death by his father: George W. McGee and his father-in-law: John F. Haberland. He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Janice Haberland McGee of Dayton; son: Robert Haberland and wife Janet of Santee, CA; daughter: Kimberley Miller of Fort Worth; mother: Eunice Howard Carical of Fort Worth; brothers: George McGee and Mike McGee both of Fort Worth; mother-in-law: Joan Grain of England; six grandchildren; also numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family has request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
