Bobby Gene Rawlinson, Sr., 73, of Dayton, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in New Caney, Texas. Bobby was born December 30, 1945 in Jacksonville, Texas to Fate Rawlinson and Luzelle Fuller Rawlinson.
Services for Bobby will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 at Dayton First Assembly Church, 2829 FM 1960, Dayton, Texas. Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Rich Cope will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Friday evening at Dayton First Assembly. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019 at McKnight Cemetery, 565 CR 975, Cushing, Texas.
Bobby and his wife of 51 years, Susan, lived and raised their two children in Dayton, Texas for the past 40 years. Bobby was a member of the 1964 Cushing Bearkat Basketball District Champs and graduated as Senior Class President. After attending trade school, Bobby worked as a Pipefitter and later retired as a Shop Foreman at Boccard Pipe Fabricators, Inc. He was also a member of the Steam and Pipefitters Local 211. He and Susan often enjoyed RV'ing and spending time with family and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, David Rawlinson. He is survived by his wife, Susan Rawlinson; son, Bobby Rawlinson, Jr. and wife Angela; daughter Angela Wolsey and husband John; grandchildren, Megan Wolsey, Joseph Rawlinson, Ryan Wolsey, and Jacob Rawlinson; sisters, Denise Rawlinson and Brenda Walker; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
