Bobbie Earl McWhorter Sr., age 80 and a resident of Thicket, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014. He was born July 27, 1934 in Thicket, Texas to parents Lute E. McWhorter and Grace Eason McMillian who preceded him in death along with his brother, Hayden McWhorter; and grandson, Blake Eason.Bobbie graduated from Cleveland High School in 1953. He retired from Solvay in the late 90s. He served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Votaw and a member of First Baptist Church of Saratoga. Bobbie loved his family and his dog Sadie. He was known for his great sense of humor.Survivors include his wife of 56 years, JoAnn McWhorter; daughter, Terrie Eason and husband Norris Eason; son, Bobbie Earl McWhorter Jr. and wife Linda; sisters, Joyce Wilson, Judy Roberts, and Bobbie McWhorter; brothers, Lute H. McWhorter and Douglas McWhorter; grandchildren, Hannah Daffron and husband Michael, Anna Bryant and husband James, Sarah Taylor and husband Rance; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Hart-Bryant, Alissa and Payton Daffron, Lucas and Hailee Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews.Frank Aragon will preside over funeral services held 10:00 a.m., Monday November 24, 2014 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Midway Cemetery, Polk County, Texas. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas.
