Blanche Page Robinson

Blanche Page Robinson, 99, of Dayton passed away peacefully Thursday, August 29, 2019 in Humble, Texas.

A visitation of family and friends for Mrs. Robinson will be 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Services for Mrs. Robinson will be 9:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil. Private interment will be at Heirlawn Cemetery.

Blanche was born January 11, 1920 to parents, Shirley S. Page and Mattie Cherry Page. A native of Tarkington, Liberty County, she grew up on a farm and ranch with a large family during the great depression.

After graduating from Tarkington High School, Class of 1939, she entered Draughon’s Business College in Houston majoring in accounting. Upon completion, she married Woodrow Richard Robinson of Dayton, class of 1937. They then moved to Beaumont, where he worked 42 years for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

While living in Beaumont, Blanche worked in the accounting department for Stedman Wholesale Company during World War II. After the war she became interested in selling real estate, designing, engineering and drafting custom built houses since so many veterans were returning home and needed house plans in order to build and finance a house.

Upon complementing her studies in architecture and drafting she was already set up in her own business. Then one day in 1954 someone dropped by and said they were looking for you at Bethlehem Steel. She applied and went to work immediately in the Engineering Department arranging and drafting living units one off shore drilling platforms, retiring in 1976.

While living in Beaumont for 53 years Blanche, also had a very active social life. A member of the Beaumont evening unit of Parliamentarians, Business and Professional Women’s Club, Beaumont Board of Realtors and First Baptist Church. A Past Matron of South Park Eastern Star Chapter No. 1056, she served many appointments in the Section, District and State levels in Eastern Star.

In 1993 she moved to Dayton, her husband’s old home place, as planned and maintained a cattle ranch. She was a member of the American Dayton Cattle Association. She was past matron of Dayton Easter Star, No. 634, and Mont Belvieu, Chapter No. 1142. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Dayton transferring to South Dayton Baptist Church, near her home.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 49 years, son Walter Edward “Ed” Robinson, D.V.M., brothers Allen, Loyde, Hollis and Virgil Page, sisters Ruby “Chip” Page Scott, and Bess “Boots” Page Collins.

Mrs. Robinson is survived by her grandson, Davis Edward Robinson and wife Melanie of Austin; her granddaughter, Melissa Robinson Stewart and husband Chris of Benbrook; her great-grandchildren, Balin and Chase Robinson, Dane and Gabriella Stewart; sisters, Shirley June Page Gregory, Zelma Kenreck and Sudie Harvey; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
