Billy V. Hayden, age 89 of Splendora, Texas, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017. He was born June 30, 1928 in Splendora, Texas to parents Joe D. and G. Faye Strickland Hayden who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Ross Hayden and Floyd Hayden; and grandchild, Pricilla Martinez
A lifelong resident of Splendora, Billy was a true man of God. He became a member of Firetower Baptist Church in 1960 and was ordained as deacon in 1970. He served our country in the Navy and Naval Reserves for many years. In the 1970’s he traveled to Saudi Arabia to work on King Fasail’s palace.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Janice Hayden; daughters, Cynthia Strickland and Dwanna Granade; brother, Glen Hayden; sister, Edith Sheffield; grandchildren, Shawn King, Shayde King, DeVonna Parker, and Scarlette Orgovon; great-grandchildren, Cristina Martinez, John King, Shianne Stewart, Sabrina Martinez, Derek Barnes, Roy Andrew Martinez, Sieanna Stewart, Alexander Caten and Gunnar Orgovon; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2017 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Pace Stancil Chapel. Interment will be at Morgan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
