Billy Sherman Rogers, 71, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on April 2, 2025. He was born on October 31, 1953, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to Don Rogers and Lula Alexander Rogers. Billy lived a life full of love, laughter, and hard work, and was cherished by all who knew him.

Billy, or "Pawpaw Billy" as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, was known for his deep love of family and his devotion to those he called friends. Billy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including spending time with his beloved dogs and savoring sweet treats.

Billy had an undeniable passion for motorcycles, which he enjoyed throughout his life, and was a fan of car shows and westerns. He enjoyed spending time and talking on the phone with his many friends. Billy built a life of love, happiness and laughter with his wife of 36 years, Kimberly.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Rogers; sons Billy W. Rogers (Heidi), Jason Rogers (Ashley); daughters Veronica Abshire (Justin), Stephanie Semien (John); brother Deral Rogers, and special brothers Billy Thacker and Rob Vincent; sisters Judith Klemme and Laura Coslett; grandchildren Nathan Abshire (Kay), Natalie Reed (Bo), Amiya Collins, Krysta Semien, and Chantell Semien; bonus grandkids Ethan, Hayden, Bentley, Carson, Cole, Kimber, and Jase; great-grandchildren Cooper and Waylon Reed; and numerous other family members and friends.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Lula Rogers; his sister Jonnie Townsend; his sister-in-law Linda Rogers; his uncle Eugene Mills Rogers; his mother-in-law Albina Ubnoskye; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Paula Ubnoksye and his brother-in-law Fred Shaver.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the love and support they have received during this time.

A visitation for Billy will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Eastgate at 3:00 p.m.

Pallbearers are Nathan Abshire, Dewey Porter, Jason Rogers, John Semien, Chase Taplin and Rowdy Taplin. Honorary Pallbearers are Justin Abshire, Keith Klimitchek, Bobby Petroski, Bill Rogers, Henry Taplin, Billy Thacker, and Rob Vincent.

Billy will be remembered for his love of life, his passion for his family, and his fun-loving spirit that touched everyone who knew him. His legacy of kindness, humor, and devotion to those he cared for will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
