Billy Joe Cunningham

Billy Joe Cunningham, 91, of Crosby, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at LBJ Hospital in Houston. Billy Joe was born September 17, 1927 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to parents Herman L. and Donnie Ozell Cunningham.

Services for Mr. Cunningham will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home and Chapel. Richard Harmier and Oliver Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Huffman Cemetery in Huffman, Texas. Pallbearers will be Don Cunningham, Zack Walker, Randy Wolf, Aaron Cunningham, Kyle Cunningham, Jimmy Davison and Honorary Pallbearer, Richard Jones (RJ). Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday before the service.

Bill served in the United States Army during World War II, attaining the rank of Corporal. He was an avid sports fan. Bill had a love for golf and football, especially the Houston Texans. He was a good athlete himself. Bill played football and basketball for Eastern New Mexico University. He retired as a senior electrical designer from Brown and Root in 1983. Above all else, he loved and adored his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 61 years, Alene Cunningham, son, Carle Cunningham and a sister.

Mr. Cunningham is survived by sons: Allen Cunningham and Karen, Don Cunningham and Pat, James Cunningham and Elizabeth, Jeff Cunningham and Angela; daughter-in-law, Sonja Cunningham; grandchildren: Kyle Cunningham and Pam, Amber Lorick and Trent, Austin Cunningham, Sean Cunningham, Darcy Cunningham, Milisa Bilnoski and Allen, Angela Walker and Zack, Aaron Cunningham, Kati Cunningham, Jamey Cunningham, Jesse Cunningham, Misty Newton and Woody, Sarah Dugas and Justin, Kati Evans and Chris, and Rae Richardson; great grandchildren: Jacqueline, Landon, Dylan, Cassilynn, Rylan, Brayden, Lisa, Allyson, Woody, Gavin, Gabriel, Elijah, Emma, Portia, Noah, and Caleb; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and neighbors.
