Billy Benjamin Brother, Sr., 88, of Dayton passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Mont Belvieu. He was born January 10, 1931 in Kosse, Texas to parents Robert Talmage Brothers and Sadie Irene Hayes Brothers.
Service for Mr. Brothers will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Day officiating. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at Pace-Stancil.
Billy was a longtime resident of Dayton. He worked for Charles McClain at Dayton Vacuum for many years. Billy proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He taught his children by example to be hard working, committed to family, and to help others. He loved and appreciated his faithful caregivers Patricia Bass, Faye Brown and Margaret Simmons.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Margaret Helen Brothers; brothers Robert, Taylor and David; sisters Enda Fay and Ethel; and his grandson Steven. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Bartz and husband William; sons, Gary Brothers and wife Linda; Ronnie Brothers and wife Patricia; Billy Brothers and wife Denise; Jerry Brothers and wife Gosia; and W.T. Brothers and wife Rosemary; grandchildren, Tracie, Bridget, Scotty, Billy III, William, Sarah, Amy, Elise, Benjamin, M.J., Katherine and Anna; great-grandchildren, Allicia, Keithen, Carson, Jared, Megan, Dusti, Averyelle, Husdon, and Adelei; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
