Billie Robert McNeely, 67, of Dayton, Texas died Friday Jan. 18, 2013 at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Hospital in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with Reverends Bruce Lockett and Rob Sharp officiating. Burial services will follow at the Magnolia Cemetery in Dayton. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening, Jan. 22, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Serving as pallbearers are Bubba Atkinson, Aaron Allisan, Brent Quinn, Jason Linet, Fred Barton, Billy Carol Holifield. Honorary pallbearer is Bruce Bratton. Billie Robert McNeely was born November 28, 1945, in Vidor, Texas to Harold Scott and Donna Doretha McNeely. He married his wife Billie Jean Barber on September 29, 1967 in Nederland, Texas. After 15 years in the United States Marine Corp, serving two tours in Vietnam, he became a longtime resident of Dayton. He worked as a machinist/owner of the Highlands Machine Shop family-owned business. He attended church faithfully at Church of the Living God in Dayton where his wife is the founder and pastor. Mr. McNeely enjoyed hunting, fishing, leather work, horse riding, rock tumbling, jewelry making, tending his plants, and playing with his three dogs; Shanti, Reba, and Peppé. He was a member of the 29 Palms, CA Posse, VFW, and American Legion, Post #512. He was preceded in death by his parents; Harold Scott McNeely and Donna Doretha. Billie McNeely is survived by his wife of 45 years Billie McNeely of Dayton; daughters and sons-in-laws: Rhonda Faircloth and Dustin of Tarkington; Robin Bradt and Andy of Dayton; grandchildren: Brittany Cone and Brent of Dayton; Dylan Faircloth of Tarkington; Ethan, Greyson, and Cooper Bradt of Dayton; great-grandchild: Audrey Cone of Dayton; sister: Linda Atkinson and Ricky of Crystal Beach; brother: Harold Dean McNeely and Rhonda of Jasper; and many nieces, and nephews. Special friends included; Santee Faircloth, Bruce Bratton, Fred Barton, Chelle Murray, Bruce Lockett, Rob Sharp, and the late Raymond Rogers.
