Billie Jean Evans, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, in Richardson, Texas, at the age of 91. Born in Dolen, Texas, on January 7, 1934, Billie Jean spent most of her life in Cleveland, Texas, where she was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church and a cherished member of the community.
Billie Jean was a woman of unwavering strength, kindness, and grace leaving an incredible mark on the lives of all who knew her. She dedicated many years to a fulfilling career at H&K Pharmacy and First Bank and Trust. Beyond her professional life, she found immense joy in gardening, planting flowers, and spending time in nature, particularly bird watching. Billie Jean also loved reminiscing about trips to Colorado and Alaska, where she embraced the fresh air and beauty of the outdoors.
A proud mother of four daughters, she leaves behind Rita Johnson (Larry Cure) of Houston, Texas; Nita Wright of McKinney, Texas; Tina Liesenfelt (Doyle) of Plano, Texas; and Neva Despain (Curtis) of Onalaska, Texas. She was also a loving “Nana” to her only grandchild, her pride and joy, Brandi Ranucci (Christopher) and a doting great-grandmother to Kennedy, Kamryn and Kortney Ranucci. Billie Jean’s legacy of love and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She is preceded in death by her father, William (Bill) Evans, mother, Alma Evans, brother Edward Evans, grandson, Joshua Wright, and son-in-law, Cecil Johnson.
A visitation for Billie Jean will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 am at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Burial to follow immediately at Cleveland Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Hart, Chris Ranucci, Melvin Sloan, James Sloan, Troy Tullos, Todd Tullos, Garland Yeager, and Jeff Yeager.
