Wilburn Donald ( Bill ) Conley, formerly of Angleton and Cleveland, TX, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 03, 2012 at The River Hills Health & Rehab facility in Kerrville, TX, after a long hard battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was 73 years old. Bill was born in Luling, TX on July 16th 1938 to Wilburn Dale Conley and Dorothy ( Bost ) Conley. At one or two years old his parents moved to Angleton, TX where he was raised. Bill graduated from Angleton High School in 1956. Shortly after, he went to work for Dow Chemical for ten years or so as a rigger in the crane department. He worked for several large cattle ranches as a foreman before starting his own successful construction company in Houston that he operated for many years. Bill was a true horseman. He raised and trained Registered Foundation Quarter Horses on his ranch in Tarkington Prairie until the debilitating effects of Parkinson’s Disease required nursing home care. He was his own man and will be missed by all who knew him. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Wilburn and Dorothy Conley. He leaves behind a son David Earl Conley ( Sharron ) of Cleveland, TX, a daughter Brenda Conley of Highlands, TX, brother James Conley (Rita) of Angleton, TX, grandchildren & great grandchildren. He also leaves behind two special friends and caregivers, Kevin Grossinger of Rocksprings, TX and Linda Buckelew of Kerrville, TX, who both remained faithful to his needs to the last. Their faithfulness in his time of need is appreciated more than words can express. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Angleton Cemetery Pavillion, Angleton, Texas with Pastor Sam Hope officiating. Arrangements are made through Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, TX and they are gratefully thanked for their care and respect for Bill.
