Betty K. “Maw Maw†Minton Kocian, 77, of Dayton, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with graveside services at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Lynch’s Chapel Cemetery in Alto. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil funeral home in Dayton. Betty was born July 19, 1936 in Houston, to parents; Henry Lee and Vesta M. Anderson Minton, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 23 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed puzzle books, playing solitaire, and especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Kocian was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: La Faye Plumlee and Mary Ward, and brothers: George and James Minton. She is survived by her children: Mark Kocian and wife Jana of Huffman, Kim Brown and husband Leo of Dayton, and Raymond Kocian and wife Davena of Hardin, grandchildren: Kyle, Steven, and Jason Kocian, Christopher and Jacob Brown, Staci Williams, and Daniel Mantle, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
