Betty Jo Otto George, age 84, of Dayton, passed away Friday morning, August 16, 2013 at her home in Dayton. Service details. The family will receive visitors from Monday August 19, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Services will be 10 am Tuesday August 20, 2013 at First Baptist Church Dayton. Betty was born September 27, 1928 in Richmond, TX, the daughter of Anson and Dora (Coffelt) Otto. Her family then moved to Dayton. She graduated from Dayton High School in 1947. On August 22, 1949 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Emzey Ray George. They celebrated 27 incredible years together. Betty retired from Sears after 20 years of service, but she was most proud of her role in life as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Dayton. She enjoyed family gatherings, quilting, reading a great book and an intense game of cards with loved ones. Betty is preceeded in death by her husband, Emzey; two brothers, John Clifford “JC” Otto; and James Franklin Otto; and her parents. Survivors include three sons, Patrick Roy George and wife Veronica, of Missouri City; Michael Ray and wife Mary Jo, of Dayton; and Kenneth Wayne George and wife Latricia, of Dayton; two sisters, Darlene Batchelor, of Dayton; and Doris Carlisle and husband Nick, of Jewitt; nine grandchildren, Christopher George and wife, Elaine, Kevin George, Tracy George, Tony George and wife Amber, Ashley George, Kenneth George and wife Alayna, Ray George, Amanda Steves and husband Chris, and Rebecca “Becky” George; seven great-grandsons, Dustin, Cody, Blake, Holden, Collin, Hayden, and Parker; and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
