Bessie Inez Campbell

Bessie Inez Campbell was born on November 27, 1920 in Moody, Texas to parents Viola and John Brashear. She grew up with 5 brothers and sisters. Eventually the family settled in Liberty, Texas where Bessie attended Elementary School and graduated high school.
Bessie and Joe Campbell were married on March 9, 1946. They were married 57 years, until Joe’s death in 2003. She was a longtime residendt of the Cloverleaf Community near Houston. She and Joe raised their family there. They left Cloverleaf for good in 1985 to make their new home in Liberty County at Dolen upon their retirement.
Bessie worked for a time as a nurses aid companion. He greatest joy was being a housewife; as she loved to cook and entertain and also loved gardening. Bessie and Joe W. were longtime members of Dolen Baptist Church and were very active in all church activities and events throughout their time there.
Bessie passed away on January 21, 2012 following an illness. She was 91 years old.
Bessie is survived by son Joe R. Campbell and daughter-in-law Penny; grandson Kenneth Lee and wife Holly; great-granddaughter Teagan Lee; great-grandson Coulson Lee; many other beloved family members and cherished friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Don Bradshaw will preside over funeral services being held Wednesday, January 25, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Dolen Baptist Church with interment at Oak Shade Cemetery.
