Barry D. Stewart, 77, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Liberty. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Barry was born July 16, 1938 in Milford, UT, to parents; Duard and Ida Zabriskie Stewart, raised in Nevada and Oregon, and has resided in Dayton for the past 16 years. He was a graduate of the Klamath Union High School class of 1956 and received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He worked as a metallurgist for US Steel, a gemologist, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Liberty. He also enjoyed making jewelry, collecting arrowheads and rocks, fishing, genealogy, and especially spending time with his family.
Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Andra Kern Stewart of Dayton, sons: Barry Stewart and wife Dena of Liberty and Joseph Stewart and fiancé Kristen Littleton of Washington, daughters: Shelley Howard and husband Terry of Henderson, Sheri Landriault and husband Bo of Dayton, Serena Smesny and husband Kenny of Dayton, and SueAnne Kolarik and husband Paul of Dayton, 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
