Barbara J. Owen

Barbara Jean Owen, age 84, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away June 8, 2024 at her home. She was born March 27, 1940 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to parents Thelma Vines Byrd and Monroe Taylor Byrd.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ennis E. Owen.

She is survived by her son Robert and his wife Rhonda of Cleveland; son Chris and his wife Aileen of Copperas Cove; daughter Virginia and her husband Adam; stepsister Katie Cook; grandchildren Nathan Owen, Andrew Owen, Jacob Owen, Constance Guidry, Kobi Rhine, Robert Delaney and Jeannette Delaney; great grandchildren include Olivia Owen, Logan Owen, Noah Guidry, Shelby Guidry, and Myla Hanrahan; and other cherished family members and treasured friends throughout the years..

Barbara worked for JC Penney while also being a full time mother and wife.

Barbara loved visiting with family and friends, and especially going to church. She was a loving, caring, giving individual who always put the needs of others first. She also enjoyed raising various plants such as roses and lilies.

Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16 " For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever shall believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." Her favorite song was Amazing Grace.

There will be a visitation held on Thursday, June 13th from 6pm-8pm at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Barbara's funeral will be held on Friday, June 14th at 10:30am in the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland. Burial will be at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston.
