Barbara Little Parks, 81, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Barbara was born March 29, 1932 in Broaddus, to parents; Theodore and Lovie E. Sheard Jamison, a former resident of Kirbyville and Baytown, but has resided in Dayton since 1960. She was a graduate of the Broaddus High School class of 1948, a retired manager and clerk of Norcross Grocery, and of the Assembly of God faith. She also enjoyed gardening, collecting, cooking, and when possible she attended the Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her father: Theodore Jamison, mother: Lovie E. Sheard Jamison, husband of 21 years: Bill Parks, daughter: Lizzie Westerman Elmore, son: Kenneth Westerman, great great-grandson: James David Huckabay, sister: Joyce Mae Francis, and brother: Grover Cleveland Marse. She is survived by her sons: Archie Remmers and wife Lizzie of Dayton and Darrell Westerman and fiancé Sheila Hightower of Baytown, daughter: Joyce Anna Webb and husband Jack of Dayton, sister: Merle Rainwater of Dequincy, LA, grandchildren: Bobby, Rhonda, Nicholas, Theresa, Yvette, Michael, Dawn, Miranda, and Angela, 13 great-grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
