Balford "Bob" Tingle joined the largest congregation of his life in Heaven on Sunday, October 14, 2012. His wife and daughter held his hand as long as he was able, before giving his hand to God. Born on February 23, 1925 in Brent, Alabama to Ila Mae Montgomery-Tingle and Joseph "Albert" Tingle, he grew up in Alabama and moved to Cleveland, TX with three brothers and one sister, attending school until 11th grade and then joining the Navy where he was a Radio Technician and fought in WWII. After the Navy he met his beautiful wife, Gladys Faye Tingle, and married her in 1949. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on April 9, 2012. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, as well as the owner of Tingle's TV for 30 plus years and Pastor of Cleveland Missionary Baptist Church for twenty-eight years. He was a lover of sports, especially football, baseball and basketball. He enjoyed watching and coaching his son and grandsons from the sidelines. You would never see Bob miss a Cleveland Indians game where he sat in the same spot for years cheering them on. Retiring from pastoring he joined Southline Baptist Church and was a member for many years. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, son, Bobby Wayne Tingle, who passed away in 2002, his sister Betty Jean Guthrie. Survived by his wife, Gladys Tingle, of Cleveland, TX, daughter, Darla Jean Senter (husband) Jimmy Senter, of Cleveland, TX, grandchildren, Jason Eric Tingle, of Cleveland, TX, Lenee Anise Hunziker, of The Woodlands, TX, (husband) Scott Garyt Hunziker, of The Woodlands, TX, and Marcus Wayne Tingle, (wife) Holly Eldred, of Montgomery, TX, Shannon Senter (wife) Bethany Partain Senter, of Cleveland, TX, and Brandon Lee Senter, of Cleveland, TX, great grandchildren, Parker Leigh Hunziker, Austin Wayne Tingle, Peyton Alivia Senter and Tyler Scott Tingle and brother's Richard Tingle, of Cleveland,TX, Victor Tingle, of Cleveland, TX and Leon Tingle, of Cleveland, TX, and nephews, Teague Foreman, of Trinity, TX, and Ricky Tingle, of Conroe, TX, and nieces, Peggy Foreman, of Trinity, TX, and Vickie Tingle, of Pasadena, TX. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor Nelson Womack will preside over funeral Services being held Thursday, October, 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery.
