Avis Dabney Harp

Avis Lorane (Smith) Dabney Harp was born February 27, 1932 in Evergreen, Texas to parents Warren Smith and Mollie Jeffcoat Smith.  She passed away on January 30, 2024 at the age of 91.

Avis is preceded in death by husbands, George Dabney and Dick Harp; brothers, James Warren Smith, Walter Smith, William Smith; sisters, Lillie Mae Dockery, Ellen Enloe, Lurreta Moody, Ilah Late Lewis.  She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

Avis was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.  She took great joy in take caring of others and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 11am-12pm at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland with her funeral service immediately following at 12pm in the Pace-Stancil Chapel with Darren Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Coldspring. Pallbearers will be, Mike Hickman, Donald Hickman, Dewayne Hutchinson, Joe Smith, George Smith, and Chris Farley.
