Augustin Hernandez-Martinez, 83, of Houston, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016, at the LBJ Hospital in Houston.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2016, at Casa De Oracion in Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Casa De Oracion at 241 CR 4881, Dayton, with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Augustin was born May 28, 1933 in Mexico, to parents; Seferino Martinez and Juana Hernandez, and has been a Houston resident for one year. He was a farmer by trade and enjoyed spending time with his family and collecting coins.

Mr. Hernandez-Martinez was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Juana Velasquez, and grandson: Miguel Angel Martinez. He is survived by his sons: Jose Martinez and wife Mary of Dayton, Miguel Martinez and wife Rosa Zuniga of Mexico, Angel Martinez and wife Juana Carmona of Houston, Humberto Martinez of Florida, Jesus Martinez and wife Minerva Lazalde of Florida, and Augustin Martinez of Florida, daughters: Maria Del Socorro Martinez of Houston and Elvia Ruiz and husband Manuel of Florida, brothers: Thomas Martinez, Manuel Martinez, and Alfonzo Martinez, sister: Isabel Martinez, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
