Astrid Tooms, age 72, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Memorial Herman Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She was born April 27, 1939 in Springs, Transvaal, South Africa to parents Louis Jean Requilet and Mary Alice Requilet.
Astrid was a loving wife, wonderful mother and doting Ouma. She lived in Coldspring since 1992 where she attended Coldspring United Methodist Church. She was also an active member of the Coldspring Garden Club, serving as president as well as other committee positions. Astrid had a real “green thumb” and loved tending to her rose gardens and many other beautiful plants. You would always find her gardening outside; enjoying the beautiful lake front.
Astrid leaves her memories to her loving husband of 48 years Donald Tooms; her daughter Louise Morris and her husband Rick Morris; their children Tommy and Stephen; son Donald Craig Tooms and his wife Robin Tooms and son Stuart Tooms, his wife Kathryn Tooms and their children Joel and Collin.
Please join the family for funeral services being held Monday, January 16, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Coldspring United Methodist Church, 150 Cemetery Street, Coldspring, Texas with Rev. David Green presiding. Graveside services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Coldspring, Texas. Pallbearers include Craig Tooms, Stuart Tooms, Rick Morris, Tommy Morris, and Stephen Morris.
