Archie Edward Porter

Archie Edward Porter, age 71, rancher in the cattle and horse industry, passed away peacefully at his home on Tarkington Prairie, Cleveland, Texas, Sunday, February 13, 2011. He was born May 13, 1939 in Hightower, Texas to Archie M. and Ruth L. Porter who preceded him in death along with his daughter, Donna Porter Havard; brothers, Wesley Ray Porter and Bobby Porter.
He leaves his memories to his loving wife, Thelma Blackwell Porter; daughter, Diane Porter Presswood and husband, Seab; granddaughter, Victoria Havard Pridgen and husband, Jake; brothers, Leon Porter, Aubrey Porter; sisters-in law, Geneva Porter and Clara Page; son-in-law, Bart Havard; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and treasured friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Ryan Cemetery. Pallbearers include Clyde Sweet, Matt Butler, Roy Files, Freddie Stephens, Bart Havard, Floyd Page, and Horace Page; honorary pallbearers include, Jimmy Porter, Jason Porter, Jimmy Granger, Vince Porter, David Hughes Ronnie Gray, Cecil Brown, Glenn Bryant, and Sean Bryant.
