Amber Grace Basye, 18, of Coldspring passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014. She was born October 31, 1995 in Humble, Texas to parents Tim Basye and Leah Beverly Basye. She was a lifelong resident of Shepherd where she graduated from Shepherd High School this year. Amber played volleyball and softball as a catcher. She was active in FFA, and showed lambs at the San Jacinto County Fair. Amber loved hanging with her friends, fishing, boating, and swimming. She had planned to attend Tarlington State University in the fall. Services for Amber will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Shepherd. Interment will follow at Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd. Visitation for Amber will be Tuesday, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Amber was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Phillip Byrd Beverly, James Berry Haggard, and Virginia Faye Cook Haggard; grandfather, Melvin Leslie Basye, Jr. and uncle, David Barrett Basye. She is survived by her father, Timothy Layne Basye and step-mother, Sherry Wagner; her mother, Leah Beverly-England and step-father, Stoney England; brother, Brandon Basye; step-siblings, Kenneth Wagner, Heather Wagner, Lance England, Tracy Mayo, April Pierce and Ashley England; grandparents, Mary Tomlin Basye Nicklow and husband Quay MacMillan Nicklow, Charles “Bud†and Jan Beverly; Shirley and Neal Smith; Venetta McElroy; great grandmother, Opal Beverly; uncles, Gary Beverly and wife Zeta, Edward Pierce and wife April, Charles “Dobber†Beverly, Jr. and wife Nicole; numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
