Alvia Vernon Swanson

Alvia Vernon Swanson, age 81 and a resident of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014. He was born February 2, 1932, in Stroud, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his wife Adell Swanson, daughters Martha Gill and Kathy Swanson, one brother and several sisters. Survivors include his brother, Joe Swanson and wife Wilma; grandchildren, Hattie Kay Swanson and Leona Swanson; great-grandchildren, Kimberly Bishop, Austin Swanson, Joseph Cato, Jacob Paukert, Erinshay Boyd, Kyle Shoemaker and Sadie Paukert; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 12, 2014, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services conducted by Bro. Thomas Bolton will be held Monday, January 13, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Splendora City Cemetery, Splendora, Texas.
