Alonzo “Don†Dalton, 77, of Dayton died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at home after an extended illness. He was born July 10, 1936 in Hazard, KY to parents Leonard Dalton and Myrtle Watkins Dalton. Don had lived in Port Lavaca before moving to Dayton 5 years ago. He was retired from the Port of Houston where he worked as a longshoreman. Don enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Father Michael Vu officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by his wife Alva Dalton of Dayton; his daughters: Pam Mulcare and husband Michael of Dayton, Sandra Livanec and husband Michael of Dayton, and Donna Dalton of Dayton; his son: Troy Dalton of Californa; grandchildren: Jason, Janell, Brandy, Philip, Hillary, Justin, & Matthew & Zachary; twelve great-grandchildren; also numerous other relatives and friends.
