Allie Ruth Shannon, age 90 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017. She was born November 20, 1927 in Jasper City, Mississippi to parents Frank A. Causey and Mattie Ruth McCune who preceded her in death along with her sister, Carolyn Causey Smith.
Mrs. Shannon had a love of music and received a Masters in Music from LSU. She was a member and past regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also choir director of First United Methodist Church Coldspring.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Ted S. Shannon; stepdaughter, Teresa Doisy; brothers, Frank Causey and William Causey; sisters, JoAnn “Jo” Dukes, and Mary “Mac” Skinner; grandchildren, Stuart, Kimberly and Christina; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Coldspring, Texas. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Coldspring, Texas.
