Alice D. “Granny†Wedgeworth Hallman, 86, of Dayton, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Alice was born May 14, 1926 in Tuscaloosa, AL, to parents; John E. and Willie Mae Dockery Wedgeworth, a former resident of Pasadena, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 38 years. She was a retired cook for the Dayton High School cafeteria and member of the Kingdom Hall of Liberty. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, crocheting, and quilting. Mrs. Hallman was preceded in death by her father: John Ernest Wedgeworth, mother: Willie Mae Dockery Wedgeworth, husband of 33 years: Lonnie Vester Hallman, Jr., son: John Vester Hallman, daughter: Nancy Carol Hallman, and sisters: Mary Wedgeworth, Leona Austin, and Lois Hall. She is survived by her daughters: Judy Gambol and husband Barry, Sr. of Dayton and Sandra Dawkins and husband John D., Sr. of Dayton, sister: Patsy Riggs of Pasadena, brother: Bobby Wedgeworth of Pasadena, grandchildren: Lori Hutchins, Barry Gambol, Jr., John D. Dawkins, Jr., and Vester Dawkins, great-grandchildren: Darren Dawkins, Samantha Dawkins, and Emma Dawkins, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
