Albert Wayne Ballinger

November 28, 1946 — July 29, 2019

Albert “Wayne” Ballinger, 72, of Wallisville passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 surrounded by his family. Wayne was born November 28, 1946 in Liberty, Texas to parents John Henry Ballinger and Ila Pearl Dagle Ballinger.

Services for Wayne will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Rev. Gene Summers officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Pace-Stancil. Serving as pallbearers are Chayse Taylor, Kody Fiedler, Jimbo Ballinger, Chuck Smesny, Buggs Shipman, and Kenny Smesny.

Wayne was born and raised in Liberty and Dayton, graduating from Dayton High School in 1966. He had been a resident of Wallisville for the past 10 years and was previously of Old River. Wayne proudly served in the United States Air Force and the United States Navy. He worked as a warehouse supervisor in construction. Wayne enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, baking for his family and playing poker at the VFW Hall.
Wayne was preceded by his parents, brothers, Lester “Buddy” Ballinger and Dale “Shorty” Ballinger, sisters, Ruby Siebert and Pearl Smesny. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janelle Smart Ballinger of Wallisville; son, Aaron Ballinger and wife Jana of Mont Belvieu; daughter, Tara Benson and husband Jeff of Mont Belvieu; grandchildren, Taylor Ballinger, Jeffery Benson, Kay-Leigh Benson, Addison Ballinger and Paityn Benson; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
