Albert D. Clark departed peacefully from his earthly home to his heavenly home November 23, 2019 peacefully in his sleep. He was born August 19, 1925 in Coldspring, Texas to parents Ed and Leola Clark.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Bethel later in life. He enjoyed singing in the male chorus. Albert joined the United States Navy during World War II in 1943 and was honorable discharged in 1946. He worked several years for Nelson Mechanic Shop and later worked for the City of Cleveland Machine Shop where he retired.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Leola Clark; and sons, Leon Clark, Curtis Clark, Bennie Clark and Sammy Clark.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Edna Clark; sons, Benjamin Clark, David Clark, Carl Furr and wife Bridget, Dwayne Clark and wife Jamiylah, Kenneth Clark and wife Jacqueline, Glenn Clark, John Clark and wife Angela; daughters, Linda Jackson and husband Willie, Brenda Pouncey, Rose Menefee and husband John, Tammy Williams; brother-in-law, Johnny Lewis and wife Luvenia; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Services will follow starting at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Travis Hulett, Jr. officiating. Interment will be held at 10:45 a.m., Monday, December 2, 2019 at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas with Naval Honors.
