Albert Elton Cox, a dedicated retired maintenance mechanic from Lubrizol in Deer Park, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Born in Dallas, Texas, on January 28th, 1939, Albert's journey came to a peaceful end in Dayton, Texas, on March 21st, 2024.
Albert's life was marked by his service not only to his career but also to his country as a US Navy Veteran. His dedication and passion for his work shone through during his years at Lubrizol, where he was known for his unwavering reliability and expertise as a maintenance mechanic.
Outside of work, Albert found joy in various hobbies and interests. From camping to fishing to collecting model cars and even driving the golf cart while his sons enjoyed a round of golf, Albert embraced life's simple pleasures. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a valued member of the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church, where his faith and sense of community flourished.
Albert's memory will be cherished by many. He is reunited in peace with his mother May Bell Sain Cox, father Arthur Elton Cox, and wife Kathryn Nichols Cox. Though he has left this world, Albert leaves behind a loving legacy survived by sons Stephen Cox with wife Kelly, David Cox with wife Gretchen; grandchildren Lauren McCrary with husband Ryan, Joshua Cox, Erin Cox, Ashton Douzat with husband Cody, Garrett Cox with fiance' Morgan Vela, Jessica Gunn with husband Eric, and Cody Orr; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his immediate family, Albert is survived by sister Carolyn Youngmeyer with husband Jim and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who were touched by his kindness and warmth throughout the years.
The services to honor Albert Elton Cox's life will take place at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. A visitation will be held on March 26th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on March 27th at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jeff Day officiating. Finally, Albert will be laid to rest at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston on the same day at 2:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Cox, Joshua Cox, Jerry Nugent, Scott Pruett, Cody Douzat and Allen Sackett.
Albert Elton Cox will forever be remembered for his hard work ethic, love for family and friends, and the genuine kindness he extended to all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace knowing he touched the hearts of many during his time on earth.
